D2 PRO – Microclean CIC

From £101.70

Microclean CIC is a low foaming aqueous process cleaner/degreaser specially designed for cleaning cast iron parts post machining. The product is suitable for use in hard & soft water qualities & contains higher concentrations of corrosion inhibitors to provide a degree of short-term corrosion protection between machining operations.

Microclean CIC is primarily recommended for use in large tunnel & rotary wash systems operating at high volumes & temperatures where a low foaming product is required. The product may also be used in soak tank operations for cast iron & other ferrous parts.

Microclean CIC FAQs

What Is Microclean CIC Used For?

Microclean CIC is a specially formulated cleaner/degreaser for cleaning cast iron parts post-machining. It effectively removes oil and residue while providing temporary protection against corrosion. The product is especially suitable for high-volume applications owing to its low-foaming properties, where excessive foam can cause operational challenges to arise.

Can Microclean CIC Be Used With Both Hard and Soft Water?

As with any cleaning product, the hardness of the local water supply can have a big impact on performance. That’s why Microclean CIC is formulated to be compatible with a wide range of water hardness levels, from soft water with a low mineral content to hard water that’s high in calcium and magnesium. This makes it a flexible solution for factories in different locations and water catchment areas. That way, you can enjoy a thorough post-machining clean while reducing the need for chemical water treatment on-site.

What Types of Cleaning Systems Is This Product Recommended For?

Because of its low-foaming properties, we recommend using Microclean CIC in large tunnel and rotary wash systems with a high throughput that operate at higher temperatures. It can also be used in soak tank operations, where parts are submerged to remove oils, chips and residues post-machining. This flexibility means that Microclean CIC is suitable for both cleaning lines and batch processes.

Does Microclean CIC Provide Any Corrosion Protection?

Yes. Microclean CIC is designed with a higher concentration of corrosion inhibitors compared with other cleaning products. This means it provides a stronger degree of corrosion protection post-machining. Freshly washed parts, therefore, are less likely to develop rust before they’re treated or further processed. This protection is especially important for ferrous metals, which can oxidise quickly when exposed to air and moisture. Having this extra layer of protection maintains the quality of parts as they move through the manufacturing process.

Is Microclean CIC Only Suitable for Cast Iron Parts?

Although we’ve formulated Microclean CIC with cast-iron parts in mind, they’re not the only application for this product.  It’s also highly effective on a range of materials, including other ferrous metals. We don’t, however, recommend using Microclean CIC with metals like aluminium or zinc alloys, where alternative formulations may provide better results.
