A Day In The Life Of A Pennine Supply Chain Apprentice

Pennine Supply Chain Apprentice at Work

A Day in the Life of a Supply Chain Apprentice

Congratulations to Liam and George on achieving a Distinction in their Level 2 Supply Chain Apprenticeship, delivered by Low Core Motivation in collaboration with Pennine.

This outstanding achievement reflects months of hard work, dedication, and hands-on learning in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

So, what does a typical day look like for a supply chain apprentice?

From the moment they arrive, apprentices are immersed in real operational activity, supporting the movement of goods, checking stock, and ensuring products are received, stored, and dispatched correctly. They work closely with experienced team members, developing essential skills in communication, teamwork, and organisation.

Health and Safety:

Health and safety is a top priority, with apprentices carrying out risk assessments and following safe working practices throughout the day. Whether loading and unloading goods or using equipment, they are constantly applying what they’ve learned in a real-world setting.

Day-To-Day Tasks:

Beyond the physical tasks, apprentices also build strong digital and administrative skills, using systems to track stock, complete documentation, and ensure compliance with important regulations such as GDPR and cyber security.

Sustainability:

Sustainability and responsibility are key too. From selecting packaging materials to reducing waste, apprentices learn how their role contributes to wider environmental goals, benefitting the company and industry.

Their journey is supported through regular observations and discussions, where they demonstrate their knowledge, reflect on their progress, and continuously develop their skills. Achieving a Distinction shows they have gone above and beyond, understanding not just how to do the job, but why it matters.

We’re incredibly proud to have Liam and George continue their journey with us and look forward to seeing what they accomplish next.
